Short Session Description (one line): An introduction to nanotechnology innovations and its related science and math concepts.

Full Session Description (as long as you would like): I will introduce nanotechnology, the science of small.  I will introduce the nanoscale and share comparatives.  I will discuss the nature of materials at the nanoscale, how they have different properties and behaviors and have larger surface areas for dynamic interactions.  I will discuss nanotechnology innovations, including nanofilms, nanotubes, nanomedicine, nanofiltration, nanoscale transistors, nanosolar plastics, and nanowire sensors.  I will give examples of each.  I will also discuss the related science and math concepts, including the use of partial difference equations for nanomodeling.  I will also discuss the risks and potential ethics implications for nanotechnology.  I hope to encourage others to learn about the exciting things happening in nanotechnology.  I have attached drafts of my powerpoint and presentation notes.

Thank you for your proposal.  While your proposal interesting, we would prefer presentations that are not just research projects.  Have you done actual scientific research in this area that you would like to share?

Thanks for the chance to present.  It went well.  I will say, though, that the volunteer helpers who were supposed to help me moderate just made things difficult for me: flipping through my slides in the middle of my presentation and turning off the recording.  I don't think they realized that they needed to unclick "follow" if they wanted to explore around my presentation while I was talking.  When they click through my slides, the slides changed for all participants!!
