Conference iBooks in the classroom

First of all, thank you to Marymount School of NEW YORK, for having this great opportunity enhancing my teaching/ professional permananent training.

From the self introduction, we ve found out that the students form the technology committee currently made of 10 dedicated 7th grade students planning to greatly expand after this conference.

They told us about using iBooks in developing a very interested assignments / project on ANCIENT GREECE,that the teacher took the initiative to use iBooks in order to rewrite the long and tedious texts in teh textbooks.

We ve found out that iBooks are in fact applications created by APPLE that is used to write and publish books, that we are given the opportunity to choose . pick from different templates/widgets,adding multimedia to the book - introduction video, podcasts,pictures gallery - and teh example given was that of Embalming ancient mumies.

Another valuable part of the presentation was presenting the features of an iBoo, offering the students/teachersthe great opportunity to post links, to define unknown words,texts that can be read aloud,highlighting texts,creating notes,annotating etc.
