About Me:: iEARN use My Name Activity as an ice breaker so I am going to use it here too...
I am Samah, iEARN Syria Coordinator…I love my name since I was a child because it attracted my teachers and classmates’ attention as I was the only one who had a unique name at that time. All my classmates’ names were familiar and old fashioned, accordingly. Samah means forgiveness. My uncle, on my father side, and my aunt, on my mother side, had to write two names on separate pieces of paper and chose one then I was called Samah. The other name was Abeer, another Arabic name which means nice fragrance.
When I was a child, ages ago!!!!!, family and close friends called me Soso and Sisi as a nick name. They stop now! An Egyptian actress has the same name and when you I googled it I found many activists carry it, too.

I live in a port city, Lattakia which is the cradle of Alphabet. I am here to learn and to be part of the learning venture as my slogan is “ the moment I stop learning, I will say good bye to life”. I have been a teacher since 1990 and I feel safe among my students. Teaching is my passion. I like reading, going walking and watching English movies.
I have two brothers and a sister. My mother is a good cook simply because she sings in the kitchen. I have two adorable nieces. My family is small…but all my students call me Mom…
