Full Session Description (as long as you would like): What would you think if I told you that reading a comic book could spark scientific, engineering, artistic, mathematical, civic thinking and writing in your students? If you answered yes join me for this informative session on how Comics can help increase student literacy through creative thinking and writing skills.
Attendees will take a look at how Comics/Comic books can play a role in the classroom as an activity to reinforce learning. We will take a look at different websites that offer Public Domain and free online editing resources to use in the classroom with students. We will discuss how comic books have been influenced by events that have occurred during the years they were printed and how we can use current events as a bridge for student involvement.
